This guide focuses on proposal photography, while the same locations are also suitable for couples, anniversaries, and family travel portraits. We help plan the shooting time, meeting point, proposal position, and simple flow according to the date, location, crowds, light, and your preferred approach.

A proposal session is generally around one hour. We recommend choosing one main area, then arranging a suitable meeting point and shooting flow within that area.
1. Mount Fuji
Mount Fuji is one of Japan’s most recognizable proposal backdrops. Lakesides, fields, mountain scenery, Japanese streets, and traditional villages create a distinctly Japanese setting in every season.

Nagasaki Park: a classic view combining Lake Kawaguchi and Mount Fuji.
Oishi Park: open mountain views with seasonal flowers.
Arakurayama Sengen Park: Mount Fuji, a five-story pagoda, and traditional scenery; reaching the main viewpoint requires walking and stairs.
Yamanakako Communication Plaza KIRARA: open grass, lake scenery, and Mount Fuji.
Lake Shoji: a quieter lakeside atmosphere for natural moments.
Saiko Iyashi-no-Sato Nenba: traditional thatched-roof houses and Mount Fuji, also suitable for kimono.
Mount Fuji Visibility
Mount Fuji is a natural landscape, and visibility depends on clouds and weather. Even on a day forecast as sunny, a complete view cannot be guaranteed. We arrange the most suitable time and position possible, but the plan must remain flexible.
2. Tokyo, Kamakura & Yokohama
Tokyo offers landmarks, parks, seaside scenery, and Japanese gardens. Kamakura is ideal for couples who love the coast, local trains, and a relaxed travel feeling, while Yokohama combines historic architecture, harbor views, and contemporary city scenery. For a one-hour session, choose one main area: Tokyo, Kamakura, or Yokohama.

Tokyo Tower × Shiba Park: an iconic Tokyo landmark with park scenery.
Tokyo Station & Marunouchi: red-brick architecture and elegant streets.
Parks and Japanese gardens: options include Shinjuku Gyoen, Mejiro Garden, Roka Koshun-en, Higo-Hosokawa Garden, and Hamarikyu Gardens. Professional photography and permit rules are checked before scheduling.
Odaiba & Kasai Rinkai Park: seaside views, open parks, and relaxed natural scenery.
Kamakura & Yokohama Locations
Kamakura and Zushi beaches: relaxed walks, ocean views, and sunset proposals.
Enoden area: trains, crossings, coastline, and nostalgic Japanese streets.
Kamakura temples and nature: Myohonji, Hongakuji, Eishoji, and Kuzuharaoka Shrine; rules are confirmed in advance.

3. Kyoto & Nara
Kyoto and Nara are ideal for historic streets, bamboo, shrines, gardens, and natural scenery. Kyoto offers a timeless traditional atmosphere, while Nara feels relaxed and open, with historic architecture and deer.

Yasaka Pagoda and historic streets: one of Kyoto’s most iconic scenes; popular hours can be crowded.
Gion: stone-paved streets, machiya architecture, and classic Kyoto atmosphere; some streets have photography restrictions.
Arashiyama: bamboo, nature paths, and seasonal scenery.
Oharano Shrine: a quiet shrine surrounded by nature; advance permission and a fee may be required.
Nara Park: open scenery, historic architecture, and deer for relaxed proposals, couples, or family photos.
Kimono Proposal Photography
Guests who wish to wear kimono may rent independently and meet the photographer at the agreed location. For a completely secret proposal, visiting a studio or preparing full styling together may reveal the plan, so the best approach should be discussed individually.
4. Hokkaido
Hokkaido changes dramatically by season. Winter offers snow and canals; summer brings Furano and Biei lavender, flower fields, and countryside; spring has fresh greenery, while autumn brings rich foliage.

Winter Snow Photography
Winter sessions may be arranged in Sapporo, Otaru, Niseko, and other natural areas. Snowfall, road conditions, and weather vary each year, so the final location depends on the date and safety conditions.
Two Surprise Proposal Styles
1. Photographer Waiting at a Distance
We confirm the location, time, meeting method, and a simple signal in advance. The photographer waits at a distance with a telephoto lens and records the proposal when you reach the planned position. Afterward, we meet and continue with couple portraits.
2. Ask the Photographer to Take a Photo
The photographer waits nearby. You approach as if asking a passerby to take a phone photo. Once both of you are in position, you propose while the photographer records the moment with a professional camera, then introduces themselves and continues the session.
The best method depends on the location, crowds, sightlines, and your partner’s personality.
