What Happens After Your Photoshoot? Editing, Selection and Delivery
Updated: Sep 4
THE PHOTOSHOOT MAY END AT SUNSET—BUT YOUR STORY CONTINUES THROUGH SELECTION, EDITING AND FINAL DELIVERY.

The Short Answer
For Heart Art full-day pre-wedding experiences, you normally receive 300+ original photographs through Google Drive within two days of the photoshoot. You then select 30 favourites for professional retouching, and the finished edited images are normally delivered within seven days after we receive your selection.
Shorter experiences follow a different structure. Our one-hour photoshoot includes 15 professionally retouched images, with the final edited photographs and remaining originals delivered after your selection. Your confirmed package always remains the final reference.
Step 1: We Organize and Prepare Your Original Photographs
After the camera is put away, the first task is careful file management. We organize the photographs from the day, check the image files and prepare the complete set for delivery.
A full-day shoot moves through different locations, outfits and lighting conditions. Keeping the photographs in a clear sequence makes it easier for you to relive the day and compare similar moments when choosing your favourites.
Step 2: Your Original Photos Are Delivered
For a full-day experience, 300+ original photographs are normally delivered within two days through Google Drive. This early delivery means you do not need to wait weeks before seeing the complete story of your photoshoot.
Once the link arrives, we recommend downloading the files promptly and keeping at least two backups—for example, one copy on your computer and another on an external drive or secure cloud account.
Step 3: You Select Your Favourite Images
For full-day packages, you select 30 photographs for professional retouching. For the one-hour experience, you select 15. The selection does not need to come from only one location or outfit.
A balanced final collection often includes:
Wide photographs that show the landscape or architecture
Closer portraits with expressions you genuinely love
A mixture of outfits, hairstyles and locations
Quiet, natural moments as well as signature hero images
Photographs you would like to print, frame or share
There is no need to choose only the most dramatic pictures. A subtle smile, a small gesture or a photograph that reminds you how the day felt may become the image you value most.
How Should You Choose Your Retouched Images?
Begin with emotion and expression. Choose photographs in which you recognise yourselves, then check the composition, background and variety across the full set.
If several images feel similar, compare the eyes, hands, posture and connection between you. Retouching can refine colour, exposure and small distractions, but the strongest starting point is always a photograph with a genuine moment.
Step 4: Professional Retouching Begins
Professional retouching is not about turning you into different people. It is a careful finishing process that brings consistency and polish to the photographs while preserving the atmosphere of the day.
The process may include:
Refining colour, brightness and contrast
Balancing skin tone while keeping natural texture
Reducing small temporary distractions where appropriate
Improving consistency between different locations and lighting
Preparing a cohesive final collection
Our goal is an elegant, natural result that still feels like you—not an over-processed image that loses the character of the original moment.
What Does “Professionally Retouched” Mean?
The finished photographs receive individual attention rather than a single automatic filter. We consider the light, colours, clothing, scenery and mood of each image so the final result feels balanced across the complete collection.
Major body reshaping, complete background replacement or extensive compositing is not part of standard retouching. If you have a specific request, please discuss it with us so we can confirm what is realistic before editing begins.
Step 5: Your Final Edited Photos Are Delivered
For full-day experiences, the 30 professionally retouched photographs are normally delivered through Google Drive within seven days after we receive your final selection.
If your package includes an optional behind-the-scenes video, it is normally delivered within seven days after the edited photographs are completed. Exact inclusions and timing are confirmed with your selected experience.

How Long Are the Files Stored?
Heart Art stores delivered photo files for three months. Because long-term storage cannot be guaranteed after that period, please download and back up everything soon after delivery.
The safest approach is simple: keep one local copy, one external backup and—if possible—one cloud copy. Your wedding photographs are important personal files, so a small backup habit makes a meaningful difference.

Our Recommendation
Do not rush your selection. View the photographs once for emotion, take a short break, and then review them again for variety. Choose the images that feel meaningful now—and the ones you can imagine returning to years later.
If you are unsure between similar photographs, send us the image numbers. We can help you think about balance across locations, outfits and compositions before the retouching stage begins.
